So much to do, so little time!

Published by lwatrous at 5:17 pm under Motivation Edit This

Hello everyone!

I have decided to do some work on my time managment skills, and evaluating my work load.  I suggest everyone who is having a hard time because they feel like there are not enough hours in the day do the same thing!

My husband is likely going to start a job working third shift, and it’s always better for me to work when he’s not around.  So, I have deciced that I will get up early when he gets home from work, and work until my son wakes up.  Then, I will be able to play and keep him quiet while he sleeps.  When he wakes up, I’ll spend some time with him.  When he gets ready for work, I’ll put my son down, and work for a few hours until I feel the need to sleep.

Seems like a fairly good plan, right?  Well, now I have to look at the fact that I am slammed trying to recreate several pieces for my portfolio and building 2-3 web sites to present with it in 3 weeks.  I also have to consider where the bulk of my time is spent, and the bulk of money is coming from.  Bright Hub pays well, but they only pay once a month.  Until I get a big enough chunk of moolah from them (either in September or October) to last all month long, I’ll have to continue weekly paying jobs to keep the purse strings a little loose.  This means that I will have to manage my time incredibly well, because I can’t let anything go right now, and I want to keep this blog up!  :)

If you sit down and analyze your effort vs. reward as I have done here, you are likely going to renew your motivation and keep moving forward.  Yes, you may be exhausted in the mean time, but if you break up the monotony of working from home as I will begin doing; it will make things easier in the long run.

Until next time, keep hope alive!

Cindy

It is definitely hard going all-in with freelance writing when you don’t have a bumper of dough to hold you over in the meantime. I know how you feel. I just applied to Bright Hub today. I’m working on sending more applications out as well as building up some eHow articles (outside of DS).
