100 Things about Me
Inspired by a post on her personal blog from a fellow writer at Rich Women Sisterhood, here is a list of 100 Things about Me, as a reflective exercise.
- I was named after a song on the same album as My Shirona. I’ll let you figure that one out. Some of you know my name, so this one isn’t so hard.
- I have Mixed Cerebral Palsy, which means I have crappy balance and muscle spasms.
- I can’t move my toes on my left foot.
- I am 4′11 1/2” tall, but I usually say 5′.
- I have my tongue pierced.
- I had my belly button pierced pre-baby.
- I had my labret pierced for about 2 weeks.
- I have both my nipples pierced…. just to see if it hurt as bad as I thought it would, and yes, it did.
- I have my son’s name tattooed on my back.
- I have been married since three weeks after I turned 18. I don’t regret it.
- My mother-in-law was my best friend until she passed away in 2007.
- Just because I was a teenage Mom doesn’t mean I’m stupid.
- I don’t want any more kids, 50% of the time.
- I am considering going back to school for two bachelor’s degrees. I’m half way to both of them with transfer credits. One in Advertising, and the other to round out the A.S. in Interactive Media Design I have in two days. It will be January before I try it.
- I am going to try to quit smoking in October, while working to make extra money. I doubt it’ll happen, the smoking, not the money.
- I am going to try to lose the rest of the baby weight before 2009. I have 35 pounds to go.
- I hate everything that goes on a burger, except for cheese, bacon, or jalapenos.
- I work from home, finally, after searching for two years. I will work from home for the rest of my life the way gas is these days.
- I want to home school, but doubt I will. School is meant to give Moms a break, I know it.
- I graduated high school with a 3.97 GPA.
- Graduating college with a 3.3 GPA
- I was in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, twice. National Honor Roll, twice.
- I have parental controls on my computer because my 4.5 year old knows more about the internet than he should. And, he learned most of it on his own.
- I can say my alphabet backwards, sober and usually intoxicated.
- I can’t walk in a straight line sober, or not.
- I make homemade lasagna that has 2lbs of meat, and 7 different kinds of cheese, totaling about 5.5 lbs (that’s just the cheese)
- I don’t like Alfredo if I don’t make the sauce, but will eat it anyway.
- I*love* those fuzzy posters that kids color, and the more detail, the better.
- I am very open minded.
- I love Mexican food.
- I am thankful to be alive, as I’ve almost died multiple times.
- I can’t swim.
- I can’t skate.
- I can’t ride a bike.
- I hate bowling.
- I hate playing pool.
- I love debates.
- I am a geek at heart.
- I have a pitt bull, who’s a big doofus and gets in trouble with my son as if they were siblings.
- I have a sister 2.5 years older than my son.
- I have an aunt 15 months younger than me, a step uncle six months older than me, and a step uncle two years younger than me.
- I still talk to the first boy I ever kissed, at least once a week via IM or email. My husband doesn’t care. His wife doesn’t care. It’s nice. He lives 6 hours away.
- I get along with men better than women, and that’s not always a good thing.
- I have seen both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
- I have only lived outside the county I was born in three times in my life. Once in the county below it, once in Denver, CO, and once in Mesa, AZ.
- I am in love with Pink Floyd. I almost cried a few weeks ago when Richard Wright died.
- I love Football. I figured it was better to learn about it and enjoy it rather than to bitch about being ignored on Sundays.
- I ignore everything whenever a new episode of House is on, and have learned a lot about medicine with that show.
- My grandma is so Southern it embarrasses me sometimes, but she’s the greatest person ever. My husband says I don’t have an accent until I talk to her.
- I have two half sisters, and a step sister that I love regardless of that technicality. I have to sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law.
- I only have two first cousins.
- My family was in the paper in 1988 for having 5 generations of the family living at once. Thanks to my son, that happened again in 2005.
- I was sleeping when 9/11 happened, and I hate that.
- I have been from CA to NC in 6 days by car, with a 3 day pit-stop in CO. With a 2 year old, at the time.
- I do not drive.
- I love flying.
- The strip club doesn’t bother me. I go with my husband from time to time. It’s one of the only things to do here.
- I hate shoe shopping.
- I am trying to save to build my own home.
- I love writing.
- I have a journal that chronicles the first two years of High School. I love my English teacher for that.
- I love my job at Bright Hub, and all of my writers.
- I am starting my own business.
- Both my first and middle names mean light.
- I was named after my grandma, grandpa, and mom… while still factoring in #1
- I have a tendency to believe people are stupid, but I don’t think I’m better than anyone else.
- I’m legally blind and have to have my glasses on top of my head when I put in my contacts. My son has had to help me find my glasses in the AM a time or two when hubby was not home.
- I don’t have a favorite movie, or book.
- My favorite song is either the one I was named after which you still have to figure out, Sweet Cherry Wine by Tommy James and the Shondells, Simple Man by Lynyrd Sykynrd, Shine On you Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd, or Life by the Drop by Stevie RayVaughn, depending on when you ask me.
- My great grandfather lived to be 100, I want to, too.
- I wanted to be a criminal profiler before I went into Web Design.
- I was accepted to Colorado State’s Psychology program, but didn’t go because of money.
- I know too much about serial killers. It scares some people.
- I hate baseball.
- I love TRU TV/History Channel/Discovery Channel/TLC
- I’ve worked in the real estate and mortgage industries.
- I got my first job when I was 17.
- When I started working from home, that was technically the 4th job I’ve ever had.
- I’ve never worked fast food.
- It was because of me that my county had to put rails on all stairs and ramps for wheelchairs in all the schools. Mom raised some hell at the school board when I was little.
- I burned myself on a wood stove when I was 5.
- I want a tankless water heater.
- I can’t stand being breathed on or touched in my sleep.
- My favorite color is blue.
- I hate coffee.
- I’m addicted to Dr. Pepper.
- I love flaming Dr. Pepper.
- The news depresses me.
- I don’t like gory movies.
- Freddy Krugger, Chucky and the Crypt Keeper STILL freak me out.
- My son is my favorite teddy bear.
- I have never been to a concert.
- I don’t understand why porn bothers women. But that doesn’t mean I really love it either.
- I was 8 years old when the Blizzard of 93 hit my city.
- I am in debt to my eyeballs.
- I weighed 2lbs 13oz. when I was born.
- My labor was induced because of pre-eclampsia.
- I’ve corrected typos before showing this on twitter because two people I write for may see it.
- I cannot stand seafood.
- I hate the phone.
Whew! :) If I feel froggy one day…I may add more… I do have a Bucket List on the blog over at MySpace I’ll slide over here another day.
